Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

Zoogentic is a native desktop application for macOS and Windows. We designed it to keep your data on your device by default. This policy explains what data Zoogentic touches, when anything leaves your machine, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Your content stays local. Projects, tasks, prompts, skills, agent sessions, chat and terminal history, and app settings are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. We do not upload them to a Zoogentic-operated server; there is no Zoogentic account and no cloud sync.

No account required. Zoogentic does not require you to create an account with us or share any personal information to use it. You bring your own coding CLI and your own provider login.

Diagnostics (optional). If you opt in to crash reporting, Zoogentic may send anonymized crash traces and basic device info (OS version, app version) to help us fix bugs. This is off by default.

2. Coding CLIs and third-party providers

Zoogentic runs the coding CLIs you already have installed (such as Claude Code and Codex) as real processes on your machine. When an agent runs, the prompts, files, and context you give it are sent by that CLI to whichever AI provider you have logged into (for example Anthropic or OpenAI). That traffic goes directly from your device to the provider under your own credentials; your provider's privacy policy and data-retention rules apply to it. Zoogentic is not in the middle of those requests.

3. Connected integrations

Optional integrations only exchange data when you configure and use them. If you enable Jira sync, Zoogentic uses the credentials you provide to read tickets and post comments. If you use the browser-extension bridge, only the element you explicitly capture is sent into the app. You can leave these integrations disabled.

4. Downloads & updates

When you download or update Zoogentic, your IP address and basic request metadata are recorded by our hosting provider in standard server logs, used to deliver the file and to detect abuse.

5. Cookies & analytics

The desktop app does not use cookies. The marketing website may use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic; we do not sell this data.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Zoogentic (e.g., the AI provider your CLI is logged into, integrations you configure, or crash reporting if you enable it), and only the minimum required.

7. Your rights

Because your content is stored locally, you can delete it at any time from within the app, or by removing the application support directory. We don't hold account data on our servers; there's nothing to delete on our side.

8. Children

Zoogentic is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email.
